In the case of MIP² the site definition was predetermined by the MT3 Project specification and contract between the project coordinator and the group. Part of the site definition is to determine who would be the target audience.
In this case the target audience would be someone wishing to create a website and who are looking for guidance in this matter. Therefore the audience could be from teenager to silver surfer, likely with a technology bent willing to take risks in learning something new.
As part of the preparation for this project MIP² chose to create, using Microsoft Project, a Gantt Chart that allowed the group at a glance to see if they were on track for the completion of the project. A Gantt chart is a graphical representation of a projects timescales that allows blocks of time to be shaded and designated to a task and developer resource.
